12/04/2011 · Finger (sl)Ease does that, and it's specifically designed to be used on guitar strings, and won't hurt the fretboard, so if you're looking for something to clean the gunk off your strings and help them to last longer, I'd recommend trying that instead of WD40.... If guitar strings are being replaced once every few days, this can extend the replacement timeto as much as two weeks- so giving the Elixir guitar strings is worth a shot. In the end, no one can bypass the arduous task of changing guitar strings.
